BIL is free as in speech, not as in beer. Which means there is still a cost to hold the event, a cost carried by the participants. While we do not charge to enter the event, but it costs about $20 for each person. If you can afford it we request you donate, and know that each multiple past $20 helps spread these ideas to another person.
Special request — booze – want to be REALLY popular? Pick our bar tab. The best way to do this is to give a fixed amount and we’ll have a bar give that much cheap beer to BILders. (Please note no alcohol is allowed at CSULB, this is after the event)
Donations go to the Singularity Institute, a 501(c)(3) organization co-sponsoring BIL, and thus are eligible for tax-deduction.
